Abutments

The system allows the definition of regular or integral type abutments. The layout of the abutment is simply described by selecting the station of its working point on a control alignment and the azimuth or skew angle of its support line. All other data depicting the sizes of the abutment elements ( bearing wall, wing walls, and foundations) are defaulted by the system but could be edited by the user. The system automatically computes the co-ordinates, azimuth and elevation of working points at the front and back of the abutment wing walls as well at the intersection of any control alignment with the abutment support line. It also produces scaled drawings for : abutment layout, foundations ( shallow or deep), abutment front view, plan , horizontal and vertical sections, wing wall projections (plan, section, front view), bearing layout and elevation, etc.
